Classes are held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

This program is required for all new EMTs and EMTs who have changed thier level of certification who wish to function under the Robinson Memorial Hospital EMS Medical Control. EMTs must attend a Protocol Class and pass the protocol exam in order to gain full privileges to function independently under Robinson Memorial Hospital Medical Control.
Students MUST register for this class by calling (330) 297-2722. or e-mailing ems@rmh2.org. Minimum class size of 5 students required.
The Protocol Test is NOT administered on the day of the class. EMTs will schedule with the Robinson Memorial Hospital EMS Office to take the Protocol Test after attending the class.
2010 Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Two Day Provider Courses 8:15 a.m. - 5 p.m. March 27 & 28, 2010
8:15 a.m. - 5 p.m. Oct. 2 & 3, 2010
Tuition of $150 is due at the time of registration (includes textbook).
One Day Renewal Courses 8:15 a.m. - 5 p.m. April 15, 2010
8:15 a.m. - 5 p.m. Oct. 21, 2010
Tuition of $75* due at time of registration.

All classes are held in the Abraham Family Room 150 of the Robinson Medical Arts Building.
*The AHA PALS student manual is $35 extra. There are some manuals available to borrow from the EMS library on a first come, first serve basis.
Use of American Heart Association materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the Association.
EMS Instructor Upgrade Course
This course is intended for Special Topic Instructors (STI) to upgrade to an Assistant EMS Instructor or Fire Instructors seeking certificate to teach as an EMS Instructor.
Admission Requirements:
- Possess current State of Ohio certificate to practice as a First Responder, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, or Registered Nurse
- Passes practical exam at Robinson Memorial Hospital on Feb. 10, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.
- Completed Registration Packet must be submitted to EMS Office by Feb. 10, 2010
Additional Requirements for STI:
- Verification that STI was valid on Feb. 1, 2009
Additional Requirements for Fire Instructor:
- Posses valid and current State of Ohio Fire Instructor certificate
- In the preceding 7 years, has been certified for 5 years as a First Responder, EMT-B. EMT-I, EMT-P, or RN
Passed the Knowledge Exam in the preceding 3 years (scheduled through www.nremt.org)
Class Information: Feb. 13, 2010 0900 - 1700 Robinson Medical Arts Building Abraham Family Room 150 Space is limited. Students will be taken on a first come basis. EMT-Intermediate Course
Successful completion of this 130-hour program will allow an individual to take the State of Ohio's EMT-I certification examination. This program will cover all components of the State of Ohio's EMT-I Training curriculum and will cover the following: Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, IV/IO therapy, Patient Assessment, Cardiac monitoring, Manual defibrillation, Chest Decompression and more.
Requirements for Admission:
- Current State of Ohio Certification as an EMT-Basic
- Take and Pass Written Entrance Exam on August 5, 2010 at 6:30 PM in Robinson Memorial Medical Arts Building, room 150
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year EMS experience preferredComplete and submit registration packet to the EMS office by September 9, 2010
Program Starts: September 9, 2010 Program Ends: February 22, 2011 Class Days: Tuesday and Thursday Class Times: 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Cost: $700 (Due the first night of class) Registration Deadline: August 5, 2010
NOTE: The State-Certifying exam upon successful course completion costs an additional $100 - payable to the National Registry of EMTs

EMT- Basic Course
Successful completion of this 130-hour program will allow an individual to take the State of Ohio's Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification examination. This program will cover all components of the State of Ohio's EMT-B training curriculum and will include the following: CPR, Basic and Advanced Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Moving and Handling Patients, Patient-Assisted Medication Administration, AED, Trauma and Medical Patient Management, Childbirth, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Emergency Scene Operations and more.
Requirements for Admission:
- Eighteen years of age*
- High School diploma or GED
- The first 20 candidate to submit completed registration packet to the EMS Office will be enrolled into the class
Program Starts: September 7, 2010 Program Ends: January 2011 Class Days: Tuesday & Thursday 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM One Saturday per month 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost:$650 (Due the first night of class)
NOTE: The State-Certifying exam upon successful course completion costs an additional $70.00 - payable to the National Registry of EMTs

* An individual who is seventeen years of age and a senior in high school may enter and complete an EMT-Basic Training Program but will not be able to take the State-certifying exam until they become eighteen years old.
