Primary Duties
The staff nurse is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability to deliver a high standard of nursing care, adapted to the needs of specific patient populations. The patient's needs are addressed through utilization of the nursing process and evidenced-based practice. The staff nurse is responsible as the patient advocate for ensuring the coordination of all patient care through direction and/or supervision of ancillary health care providers.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Plans patient care utilizing the Nursing Process
2.Demonstrates clinical competency
3. Provides individualized patient and family education
4. Provides age appropriate care
5.Maintains professional accountability and responsibility
6Functions as Resource Nurse when assigned
7Completes required documentation accurately

Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. The nursing school must be accredited by either the 1) National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the 2) Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Pay
Min $23.27 Mid $26.75
Minimum Requirements
Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Ohio. Professional certification in nursing or related field strongly preferred.
Nurses hired to work in the labor and delivery post anesthetic care must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider status within one year of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Labor experience is required.
The required training is to be completed within the first year of employment and renewed as defined below. All nurses are required to complete blood glucose meter competency.
* Basic Emergency Respondent Training – renewed every two years
* Basic Life Support – renewed every two years
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Labor and Delivery Nurses providing cesarean section post anesthetic care –renewed every two years
* Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
