Bereavement services provided by Robinson Visiting Nurse and Hospice are available to the community at no cost.

Journeys of Life
Offered for a full thirteen months to all Hospice families after the death of a loved one. A personal visit is made by one of our Bereavement staff to assess individual bereavement needs and how they can best be met. Journeys of Life services are available at no cost to Hospice family members, as well as community residents who have experienced the loss of a loved one through death.

Grief's Journey
A six-week grief support group available to anyone in the community who has experienced the loss of a loved one. The group is designed to assist each participant to safely explore their own thoughts and feelings with others in "grief's journey" and gain an understanding of their grief and ways to best cope. The groups are led by trained and experienced facilitators and are scheduled four times each year.

Understanding Grief
A one-time grief education class.

Gentle Journeys
A one-day retreat for women who have had a significant loss in their lives and feel they would benefit by sharing with other women. This retreat uses an informal, sharing format to provide a safe and nurturing environment for participants.

Holiday Journeys
A special one-time seminar offered in November to provide support through the holiday season. This group will offer practical suggestions and encourage sharing of ways to cope successfully with the difficult holiday season.

Annual Hospice Memorial Service
A ceremony for families and staff members to honor and remember loved ones who have been cared for by Hospice within the last year. This memorial service is held in the Spring of each year.

Memory Tree Open House
A special opportunity for Hospice family members and staff to remember the loved ones cared for by Hospice during the holiday season. Ornaments representing their loved ones are brought by family members to decorate the Memory Tree, which remains up throughout the holiday season. Families also get to meet and talk to other families and familiar Hospice staff members for support at this significant time of year.
