The Dr. Mary Marsick Pediatric Education Endowment Fund has awarded two grants for the Come Grow With Us program at Robinson Memorial Hospital and the CenteringPregnancy prenatal group at Robinson Memorial Hospital.

Come Grow With Us is a four-week program for families who are interested in healthy nutrition and physical activity to achieve and maintain ideal weight for children and family members. Activities include planting a vegetable garden and eating healthy snacks and local produce as well as exercise initiatives such as walking and jumping rope.

The CenteringPregnancy prenatal group utilizes a model of care for expectant families that centers the care on the pregnant mother and her specific needs in a group format. Women learn to take control of their own care, doing self-care such as weight, blood pressure and other documentation.

The Dr. Mary Marsick Pediatric Education Endowment Fund, which is administered by the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation, honors and memorializes Dr. Mary Marsick who was a pediatrician with Robinson Memorial from 1980 through 2004. She was also a staff physician for TownHall II and other well-child clinics in Portage County. The fund was established by her daughter, Dr. Christine Marsick, in memory of her mother.

The Dr. Mary Marsick Pediatric Education Endowment Fund is available to programs within Robinson Memorial Hospital which specifically assist nurses and other healthcare professionals who are dedicated to the care of mothers, infants and children by providing educational programs and materials as well as other resources to assist with the care of children.
