The Dr. Mary Marsick Pediatric Education Endowment Fund has awarded a grant for the “Come Grow with Us” program at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
“Come Grow with Us” is for families who are interested in healthy nutrition and physical activity to achieve and maintain ideal weight for children and family members. Activities include planting a vegetable garden, eating healthy snacks and local produce, as well as exercise initiatives, such as walking and jumping rope.
“Dr. Mary Marsick was known for her devoted care to the children of Portage County and was supportive of grass roots projects such as ‘Come Grow with Us,’” said Mindy Gusz, RN, Manager of Health Education at Robinson Memorial Hospital. The Health Education Department oversees “Come Grow with Us.”
The Dr. Mary Marsick Pediatric Education Endowment Fund, which is administered by the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation, honors and memorializes Dr. Mary Marsick who was a pediatrician with Robinson Memorial from 1980 through 2004. She was also a staff physician for TownHall II and other well-child clinics in Portage County. The fund was established by her daughter, Dr. Christine Marsick, in memory of her mother.
