Foundation Awards Nursing Scholarships

The Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the award of 20 nursing scholarships to employees of Robinson Memorial Hospital and Robinson Health Affiliates, Inc. pursing a nursing career.

Recipients of the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Katherine Pangallo Nursing Scholarships are: Aimee Corley, Marcy Gonczy, Kathleen Korman, Rodney Mayle, and Edward Morgan.

Recipients of the KeyBank Nursing Scholarships are: Sarah Blair, Melissa Buchs, Dana Mullins, and Alicia Nation. Recipient of the KeyBank Radiology Scholarship is: Kristin Hall.

Recipients of the Dr. Fu-Shan Lin Nursing Scholarships are: Delcy Eskridge, Stephanie Honen, Rebecca Knapp, Kristy Nutter, Kimberly O’Shields, Amy Ostrosky, Ashley Savage, Laura Schiele, Sherry Sommers, and Danielle Vannoy.

Aimee Corley, of Kent, has been a surgical technologist at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2006. She is pursuing a nursing degree at Kent State Geauga - Twinsburg Academic Center.

Marcy Gonczy, of Mantua, has been a registered nurse on the step down unit of Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2000. She is in the online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program through Kaplan University.

Kathleen Korman, of Atwater, has been with Robinson Visiting Nurse and Hospice since 1997. She is pursuing an RN to BSN (registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degree from Ohio University online program.

Rodney Mayle, of Warren, is a registered nurse in the emergency department at Robinson Memorial Hospital. He is enrolled in the RN to BSN program at Ohio University online program.

Edward Morgan, of Ravenna, has been a patient care assistant at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2009. He is pursuing a nursing degree at Kent State Geauga - Twinsburg Academic Center.

Sarah Blair, of Windham, is a patient care technician in the emergency department at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She is enrolled in the nursing program at Kent State Trumbull.

Melissa Buchs, of North Benton, has been a patient care technician at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2007. She is enrolled in the nursing program at Stark State College.

Dana Mullins, of Akron, has been a patient care assistant at Robinson Memorial Hospital since February 2012. She is enrolled in the nursing program at Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Alicia Nation, of Hubbard, has been a registration clerk in the emergency department at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2010 and is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from Kent State University.

Kristin Hall, of Hartville, has been a registration clerk in the emergency department at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2005. She is interested in becoming a radiographer and is currently enrolled in the University of Akron – Children’s Hospital Radiography School.

Delcy Eskridge, of Ravenna, has been a patient care technician in the emergency department and step down unit since 2010. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Kent State Trumbull.

Stephanie Honen, of Youngstown, is a surgical technician in the Birth Center at Robinson. She is pursuing a nursing degree from Youngstown State University.

Rebecca Knapp, of Atwater, is a registration clerk at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Kent State University.

Kristy Nutter, of Deerfield, has been a registered nurse at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2009. She is pursuing a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree at Kent State University.

Kimberly O’Shields, of Kent, has been employed as a registration clerk at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2010 and is pursuing a nursing degree from Kent State Trumbull.

Amy Ostrosky, of Warren, has been at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2004 and is enrolled in the RN to BSN program through Ohio University

Ashley Savage, of Akron, is a registered nurse in the emergency department at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Kent State University.

Laura Schiele, of Atwater, is has been a patient care technician in the emergency department at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2009. She is pursuing a nursing degree at Kent State Stark.

Sherry Sommers, of Kent, has been a clinical manager at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2007. She is enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing program at Kent State University.

Danielle Vannoy, of Mantua, has been a staff nurse at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2007. She is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program through the University of Phoenix online program.

The Pangallo, Lin and KeyBank Nursing Scholarships are intended to recognize Katherine Pangallo, long-time, excellent nurse at Robinson Memorial; and Dr. Fu-Shan Lin, a respected Robinson Memorial physician; to assist current employees in pursuit of a career in nursing; and to assist Robinson Memorial Hospital in its current and future efforts to recruit and retain kind and excellent nurses.
