| “Tips, Tricks & Treats” offers advice on nutrition and exercise
Ravenna, Ohio, Oct. 12, 2009 – If your kids come home from school and reach for junk food and the remote control, this one’s for you. Robinson Memorial Hospital is hosting a free program on Oct. 21 to help parents address the issues of childhood nutrition and activity. “Tips, Tricks & Treats for Healthier Families” is especially designed for parents of children who are at risk of being overweight. The program will include expert speakers and special activities for children including yoga and preparing healthy snacks.
“We’re encouraging families to attend together and think about what they can do to make their diets healthier and get more physical activity,” said Stephanie Montgomery, RD, LD. “We know that eating habits set in childhood are very hard to break and can have a huge impact on health as an adult.”
The free event is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Palmstrom Community Room. Registration is required. Please call (330) 297-2576.
