Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation Awards Nursing Scholarships

Ravenna, Ohio, July 26, 2011 - The Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the award of eleven nursing scholarships to employees of Robinson Memorial Hospital and Robinson Health Affiliates, Inc. pursing a nursing career.

Recipients of the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation's Katherine Pangallo Nursing Scholarships are: Kathleen Korman, Shealanda Lewis, Patricia McMullen, Amy Ostrosky, and Bridget Ruggles. Recipients of the KeyBank Nursing Scholarships are: Kristina Block, Alicia Nation, Kimberly O'Shields, and Candice Stephenson. Recipients of the Dr. Fu-Shan Lin Nursing Scholarships are: Kathleen Korman and Patricia McMullen.

Kristina Block, of Mantua, has been a patient care assistant at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2009. She is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing at Kent State University - Geauga campus.

Kathleen Korman, of Atwater, has been with Robinson Visiting Nurse and Hospice since 1997. She is pursuing a registered nurse to bachelor of science in nursing degree from Ohio University.

Shealanda Lewis, of Akron, has been an employee with Robinson Health Affiliates since 2005. She is pursuing a nursing degree from the Akron Institute of Herzing.

Patricia McMullen, of Chagrin Falls, is an administrative supervisor and is pursuing an regisistered nurse to baschelor of science in nursing degree at Ohio University.

Alicia Nation, of Hubbard, has been a dietary aide at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2010 and is pursuing a bachelor's of nursing degree from Kent State University.

Kimberly O'Shields, of Ravenna, has been employed as a registration clerk at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2010 and is pursuing a nursing degree from Kent State University - Trumbull campus.

Amy Ostrosky, of Warren, has been at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2004 and is pursuing a bachelor's of science in nursing from Western Governors University.

Bridget Ruggles, of Kent, has been a patient care assistant at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2009 and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at Kent State University.

Candice Stephenson, of Ravenna, is a patient care assistant and is pursuing a nursing degree at Kent State University - Twinsburg campus.

The Pangallo, Lin and KeyBank Nursing Scholarships are intended to recognize Katherine Pangallo, long-time, excellent nurse at Robinson Memorial; and Dr. Fu-Shan Lin, a respected Robinson Memorial physician; to assist current employees in pursuit of a career in nursing; and to assist Robinson Memorial Hospital in its current and future efforts to recruit and retain kind and excellent nurses.
