The Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation hosted the Robinson Society and Heritage Society Distinguished Giving Program on May 2 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital Ravenna campus.
Approximately 150 people attended the event that recognizes community members, businesses and organizations that provide support for Robinson Memorial Hospital.
Donors who were recognized included: Robinson Benefactor Society: Mrs. Mary Adamson and Mr. Woody Adamson, Linda Christopher, Marcy L. Dickey, D.O., The Ferner Family, Michelle A. Jahnke, M.D., Amy Kalinowski, and Sydmor’s Jewelry, Inc.
Robinson President’s Club: Akron Children’s Hospital, Area Agency on Aging, Brimfield Lions Club, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Hamilton, Honeywell Building Solutions, Inc., and Herb Page, Windmill Lakes Golf Club. Robinson Fellow Society: Altercare Post-Acute Rehabilitation Center, Inc., and Ravenna Radiology.
Distinguished Benefactor Society: Dr. and Mrs. Robert W. Egdell, Frederick P. Marquinez, M.D., and Roetzel & Andress.
New Heritage Society members are: Timothy Harteis in memory of LaVerne Freiheit, Dr. Robert Lin in memory of Dr. Fu-Shan Lin, Printer’s Devil, Inc. in memory of Reed Strimple, The Rosky Family in memory of Patricia Rosky, Barbara Weisel in memory of Dorothy Weisel, Mr. and Mrs. Don Wilson, III, in memory of Reed Strimple, and Dr. Emma Jane Yoho in memory of Dr. Alan Yoho.
Also recognized during the event was Dr. Peter Chen, Anita Herington, Ph.D., and Jack Kohl, who stepped down from the Foundation Board.
Dr. Peter Chen was recognized at a retirement reception in April. He was a physician at Robinson Memorial Hospital from 1973 through 2012 and was a member of the Foundation Board from 2002 through 2012. The Peter Chen, M.D., Medical Staff Scholarship served as a springboard for many other Foundation scholarships.
Anita Herington has served on the Foundation Board of Directors for 15 years - from 1997 through 2012. During that time, Anita has served on the Major/Planned Giving Committee and the Nominating Committee. Anita has been a strong advocate for Robinson Memorial Hospital, an active Foundation Board member, and a long-time community leader.
Jack Kohl served on the board from 1995 through 2005 and was Foundation Board President from 1999 through 2001. He returned to the Board in 2006. Jack is active in many community organizations.
Also recognized at the event was The Auxiliary of Robinson Memorial Hospital for its longstanding commitment and support to Robinson Memorial.
