Robinson Memorial hosts third Petrone Family Diabetes Prevention Education Program

On May 17, local residents attended the Petrone Family Diabetes Prevention Education Program at Robinson Memorial Hospital. The free program offers education for those who are pre-diabetic; teaching the affects diabetes can have on health and what to do to prevent the disease. Deborah Petrone provided the welcoming remarks for the evening. Dr. Tom Bartsokas, Ed Eichler, RN, CNS, CDE and Patti Nitzsche, RD, LD, CDE gave presentations on how diabetes affects lives and health, what you should eat, and some types of physical activities to do to help prevent diabetes.

The Petrone Family Diabetes Prevention Education Program is funded through a grant provided by the David and Deborah Petrone family to the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation. This is the third time the program has been offered to the public. Over 100 members of the community have attended the program thus far.
