“Smart Art” highlights local art teachers’ talent at Robinson Memorial Hospital

Reception with the artists scheduled for Nov. 11 Ravenna, Ohio, November 2, 2009 – The artwork of nine local art teachers is on display in the Robinson Memorial Hospital Main Lobby art gallery now through Nov. 29. A public reception is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 11 with the artists. Acrylic, watercolor, and oil paintings fill the lobby with color, while mixed media pieces and ceramic masks literally jump off the wall, allowing visitors a colorful escape. Featured artists include: Sean Berrodin Aurora High School Beverly DiNapoli Maplewood Adult Education Mary Horschler Kent City Schools Heidi Horvath Rootstown Local Schools Suzanne McCabe Southeast High School Chelsey Ritchey Waterloo High School Teresa Roth-Vogel Field Local Schools Carol Weigand Southeast Middle School Stacey Woolf Waterloo High School Robinson Memorial Hospital’s Rotating Art Gallery in the Main Lobby was established in 1999 to showcase original artwork created by Northeast Ohio artists. The gallery is part of the hospital’s Art Reflections program, which is dedicated to creating an artistic environment promoting stress relief and comfort to patients, visitors and staff. Select works are available for purchase directly from the artist. Prices of individual works range from $25 to $8,000.
